Project Background

We are working in collaboration with the Town of Cambridge on plans to redevelop the site, located next door to the Wembley Sports Park.

It is proposed that the 4 hectare site will be developed for residential use to accommodate Perth’s growing population, supporting the State Government's Directions 2031 and Beyond policy.

In August 2013 we asked the local community to have their say on the future planning of the site. Feedback receivedhelped us develop a concept plan for the redevelopment of the site.

  • Can current residents of the southern part of Jolimont be certain there will be no road access between the current residential area and the new development?

Erica Smyth asked over 3 years ago

    Hi Erica,

In response to your question, there will be no road connection between the new development and the southern section of Jolimont. None of the existing streets that terminate at the site's southern boundary will be extended into the development.

    Thanks

  • Can you please explain why, if as you indicate, the apartments will be 5-6 stories you only show 4 stories in your elevations. Surely this is misleading to try an limit comment on the visual blight of 2 or more buildings that will sit well above the tree line at 20 plus metres of height

Warren Morris asked over 3 years ago

    Hi Warren,

In response to your question, the intent of the artistic elevations are only to provide examples of various built form scenarios, which may be used in further discussions when responding to the concept plan.

The concept plan identifies the elements required for consideration during the statutory planning process, however before these plans are finalised during this process, we are seeking the community’s feedback on all items identified in the plan. As such, we welcome any additional feedback you may have on the proposal generally and/or the proposed heights of 5 – 6 storeys within this location.

    thanks

  • Will there be provision for off street parking for residents? How will traffic flows into and from and are be regulated? Will there be traffic lights controlling flows of traffic?

Isobel asked over 3 years ago

    Hi Isobel,

Developers will be required to provide off-street parking at any new grouped housing / apartment development. The amount required will be determined by the Town of Cambridge at the development approval stage.

Traffic will access the site primarily from Salvado Road, with alternative access available from the Wembley Sports Park access road. This includes a direct connection to Selby Street, which will be controlled by traffic lights.

There are currently no plans for traffic lights to be installed on Salvado Road. LandCorp and the Town of Cambridge will work to ensure that vehicular access points into the site are designed and located to minimise any impacts on existing residents.

    Thanks

  • Will this area be developed under strata title or will it be green title for the individual lots and strata for the apartments?

GlendaK asked over 3 years ago

    Hi Glenda,

    Thanks for your question.

At this stage, it is likely that the individual lots will be green titled, and the apartments will be strata-titled.

    Kind regards
